Sprawl Goons: Upgraded OUT NOW!

Well, I had some time on my hands and decided to push Sprawl Goons past the layout bioroids, and get it up on DriveThru and itch.

It's an A5 14 page PDF, formatted for easy printing, smartphone or tablet display. Designed for online gaming and pick-up play, this simple 2d6 cyberpunk RPG is ideal for one-shots and short campaigns. For those who like their dark futures light.

Currently playing this with my home group via Skype, while the world burns. And now you can too!

And the Augmented Reality city kit is the perfect accompaniment! Have fun!

  1. How do NPC attack rolls work? From the rules, I get that when PCs attack, they can also get harmed. This makes me think that only PCs roll dice. But... then I see initiative rules, making me think that NPCs can attack too...

NPCs only have a Difficulty Score, they don't have attributes nor equipment to add to the dice roll. How do they attack PCs?

    1. Initiative is only there if you need it (ie: an ambush). And, as you say, only PCs roll dice.

So, for an NPC attack, the GM declares that an NPC is making said attack and the PC responds accordingly. If the PC makes their Action Roll against the enemy's DS, the NPC takes the difference in damage and their attack stalls. If the PC fails, they take the difference in damage from the NPC's attack.

An NPC's gear and abilities are baked-in to their DS, which GMs need to consider. Eg: a gang member with a blade could be a DS10, whereas a full cyborg with built-in monoblades and enhanced reflexes might be DS16 or more. But PCs do have a decent advantage in this game (usually).

  2. Understood! Initiative just to check fiction. PCs throw dice to react to enemies.

    Thanks!
