>>Neural Update Initiated

Jesus, it’s 2022 already?

What have I been up to, you ask? Gaming-wise we were stress-testing the shit out of Sprawl Goons via Skype (I need to do some more session write-ups…), then moved back to our group’s long running CP2020 campaign set in the Cape. Just handed the reins to our other GM for the final time as he starts us down the path to the campaign’s climax. Frees me up to finish off some goodies for you guys. And it’s good to be playing again.

As for Geist Hack output, there are a couple of new products in the pipeline, with Metal Express being the most likely to cross the finish line first, hopefully in the next month or so. Then, the long awaited physical Sprawl Goons omnibus. Puttering away in the background is the second volume of Augmented Reality, which, truth be told, needs a lot of work, but it is happening. There may also be a Sprawl Goons adventure or two in the works, so watch this space.

I just want to take this opportunity to say thank you for your patience and support! I’ll try not to leave it so long next time.

  1. Thanks for the updates!

As for the physical copies.. will they be europe friendly? We have had lots of issues with shipping costs from USA and many customs from UK due to Brexit. The rest of us europeans want to buy physical, but it is getting more and more difficult to do so lately :( Maybe using Lulu?

  4. Yo Paul! I've been working on converting a cyberpunk graphic novel project of mine into a ttrpg, and your Augmented Reality kit has been a huge source of inspiration. But I just today found out you contributed to Dancing With Bullets Under a Neon Sun!! Do you have (or plan to draft) a write-up of your contributions to that project? I'd love to pick your brain on that.

    1. Glad to hear that Augmented Reality has been so useful!

Yes indeed, I did work with Chance and co on Dancing With Bullets; I basically built the flavour tables in the second half of the book, as well as a few bits of gear, terminology for the world, etc. Flavour stuff, mostly.

I don't know why I didn't shout about it on here, tbh. Maybe I should. What kind of info would you like to know?

  5. Sure! How did you determine what stuff you wrote would make the cut? I imagine there's some added nuance for another project with its own ideas and themes. And how did you get involved with the project? Were you commissioned outright, or was it something different? And how was the work handed to you? Were you just asked "hey dude, I've got these things that need ideas and I also need a bunch of random tables. Wanna make some"?

Thanks in advance man! As someone to bring on collaborators in the future for my own stuff, this could be a cool experience to learn about 😃

    1. I was invited to contribute by Chance, via Discord PMs, as I am the 'Augmented Reality guy' (was very cool to be asked). Chance needed tables but had no specifics at first, those came about through conversations. We then contributed via a shared Doc and Chance had final editing privileges, as he was project lead.

A proof read and editing pass also utilised the master Doc.

As it was a KS project, I was given a cut, which I didn't expect. I think % royalties were mention originally, but I was happy to be onboard anyway. Oh, and I received a contributors copy of the finished book from the lovely people at Exalted Funeral.

It was cool adding my cyberpunk aesthetic to Chance's surreal vibe and seeing how that meshed. Lot's of back and forth, even typing into the same Doc at the same time! :D

I've not run the game, but I do think it would have a very unique atmosphere should the GM go all in with the weirder aspects.

    2. Having seen your style in your previous work, I can definitely notice it in Dancing with Bullets and how it helps make it's aesthetic much more distinct from other games. That had to have been such a fun experience, thanks for answering those questions Paul!

I gotta ask - were you the one that came up with the idea for the tapedeck, where there's a constant soundtrack playing whenever you're in the Net? That was genius

What are some Discord servers you hang out in dude? Though my own game is far, far from being collaborator-ready, I'd love to keep in touch in the near future if you are ever interested in more writing work!

    3. Can’t take credit for the tapedeck, sadly, that’s one of Chance’s. Was a fun project though!

The Old-School // Cyberpunk discord is the best one to find me on:

Although I do check-in to the Exalted Funeral, Mothership, Cyberpunk RED/2020 Fans, R.Talsorian Games discords, amongst others.
